About Me
My bio
I'm a passionate professional dedicated bringing the love of reading and writing back to middle school. I know not everyone wants to be an avid reader, but everyone deserves and needs solid reading and writing skills to be successful in life.
I am a 2021 honor graduate from Malvern High School. In my time in Malvern public schools, I was active in National Junior Honor Society and National Honor Society, National Junior Beta Club and Beta Club, Anime Club, Art Club, and was on my middle school yearbook staff.
I graduated with a BSE in Middle School Education with a focus in English Language Arts in May 2025. I earned my degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock where I've been on the Dean's List each semester and was selected as a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success.

I'm pictured above with my dog, Candy. I had 14 wonderful years with her and, of course, that wasn't nearly long enough. She's the inspiration for my website logo.
Here I am in middle school, when I ranked in a national trading card game competition in Houston.
Teaching Philosophy
As a middle school English Language Arts teacher, my goal is to create a welcoming and engaging learning environment where students feel valued, supported, and inspired to grow. I believe that every child has a unique voice and the ability to express themselves through reading, writing, and discussion.
My classroom is a space where curiosity is encouraged, mistakes are seen as opportunities for learning, and students are challenged to think critically about the world around them. I strive to make literature and language come alive through meaningful connections to students’ lives, helping them develop not only strong literacy skills but also confidence and empathy.
I recognize that every student learns differently, and I am committed to using a variety of teaching strategies to meet their needs. Whether through collaborative discussions, creative projects, or individualized support, I aim to foster a love of learning that extends beyond the classroom.
Above all, I want my students to leave my class with the skills to express themselves effectively, think deeply, and approach the world with the curiosity and compassion that prepares them for future careers.
Technology Integration Statement
Growing up, I was taught by educators who lacked technological understanding—even my coding teacher struggled with the subject. I experienced first-hand how frustrating it can be to learn in an environment where technology isn’t effectively utilized, and this motivated me to ensure my future students have a different experience.
As a middle school English Language Arts teacher, I believe technology should be a tool that enhances learning, not a distraction or a crutch. I integrate digital tools in meaningful ways to support literacy, creativity, and critical thinking. Whether through collaborative writing platforms, multimedia projects, or digital reading resources, I strive to meet students where they are and prepare them for the ever-evolving world they will inherit.
I also recognize that technology isn’t just about access—it’s about empowerment. I want my students to develop confidence in navigating digital spaces, discerning credible information, and expressing themselves effectively through various mediums. By blending traditional literacy skills with modern tools, I hope to foster a love of learning that extends beyond the classroom and into their futures.
